July 2017 Newsletter

This is the July 2017 Newsletter. There hasn’t been that much going on in ship-land: even with Shipping Goggles® on, it’s pretty hard to spot any ‘action’ in the Sun/Moon anime. The monthly newsletters are back, though!

Shipping Situation Update

Fanfiction: I have counted 55 pure Pearlshipping stories since December of 2016, 10 worth reading (judged by looking at summary). It’s not dying out, but it’s certainly not popular either.

Deviantart: It’s whatever, nobody really knows how Deviantart works. When I searched for Pearlshipping, I got more Steven Universe fanart than Pearlshipping art.

Serebii: Practically dead. There has been 1 post in the last month.

Vault: Coming back. Not as alive as it used to be, but definitely on its way back.

Fanfiction of the Month:

What If She Said Yes? byHeroxPartnerfan96

Ash made two offers to Dawn during their Sinnoh journey, and she had turned both down. However, what would have happened if she had accepted them? How different would things have turned out?

This is a great read, though short. This two-shot explores the possibility of Dawn accepting those two offers, and it does so very elegantly, with an excellent portrayal of the characters. Truly awesome.

I also have to remind you guys that the fic Shining Road to Victory’s name was changed to Another Road, and the creator changed their name to Mezamun. It’s still a great fic, and chapters keep on being added. Mezamun even joined the Vault under the name chosenone151 recently.

Pearlshippy things to do:

Visit the Vault – It’s Pearlshipping Month after all, and Pearl is just too good a ship to let go to waste.

Look at the analyses. Main Concepts, Leverage, In Depth Studies, they’re all here on Datacore. Maybe you could even make an analysis yourself! There’s certainly enough material.

Read some fanfics.

That’s all for this newsletter, stay Pearlshippy!
